What is a senator kaftan?

The senator is the Nigerian take on the men's kaftan: a clean, long-line tunic with a short standing collar, worn over matching trousers. It sits between a suit and traditional dress, which is why it works for weddings, church, dinners and formal events alike.

What do you wear a men's kaftan to?

Weddings and traditional ceremonies are the classic occasions, as groom, groomsman or guest. Plainer slim-fit styles also work for dinners, celebrations and Eid. For a bigger ceremonial statement, pair one with an agbada.
