Isi Agu

Isi Agu translates from Igbo as "lion's head" — the repeating gold motif that gives the garment its name and its meaning. Traditionally worn by titled men, chiefs and elders at coronations, title-taking ceremonies and weddings, it remains one of the most direct statements of Igbo heritage a man can make.

The CNOIR Isi Agu collection cuts the tradition for the present: velvet editions in deep red and black carrying the classic lion head, alongside antelope-print variations, and cotton versions built for warmer climates and daytime wear.
